As of the end of 2011, Hyundai plant in Saint Petersburg manufactured 138987 vehicles. Hyundai vehicles accounted for 85% of the output, while Kia vehicles accounted for 15%. 10% of Hyundai and Kia vehicles manufactured in Saint Petersburg were exported to far-abroad countries.

At the beginning of 2012, Hyundai plant in Saint Petersburg launched production of the Kia Rio hatchback.

25\01\2012 Peugeot 508 Will Be Available at Russian Dealer Centers in February

The new Peugeot 508 sedan, which has replaced two models at once (Peugeot 407 and 607), will come into the Russian market on 1 February 2012. All Peugeot 508 vehicles will be supplied from France.

Peugeot 508 for Russia is equipped with petrol 1.6 VTi Euro 5 engine of the 120 h.p. capacity and 1.6 THP Euro 5 of the 150 h.p. capacity, as well as diesel 2.0 HDi FAP Euro 5 (136 h.p.) and 2.2 HDi FAP Euro 5 (204 h.p.) engines. The gearbox is the automatic six-speed EGS6 (with the 120 h.p. engine) and automatic six-speed AT6.

As of the end of 2011, Lifan Motors, which is the leading Chinese manufacturer sold 17 910 vehicles in the Russian market. This year's result exceeded the last year's figure by 133%. More than two-fold growth was due to not only expansion of the model range. Advantageous dealer policy facilitated active establishment of new dealer centers and development of service. Solano became the most popular LIFAN model for the second time. The share of the vehicle amounted to 65%. Over 2011, 11 570 sedans were sold. The city Smily hatchback which is the 2011 novelty, was second most popular. It accounted for 28% of the sold LIFAN vehicles. The rest 7% were made up by Breez.

The design package is available on selection of the Ambition version consisting of a 1.2 L engine of the 105 h.p. capacity with a manual or automatic gearbox, electrically driven sunroof and load fastening system.

The version is limited in a limited batch. The price for Yeti Style starts at RUR860 900, which is by RUR71 900 higher than the price for the mass produced basic version.

Vedomosti reports with reference to Ernst & Young that in 2011, the Russians spent RUR 1.911 trn ($65.1 bln), which is a 1.5-time increase on the previous year. In quantitative terms, the car and LCV market which is currently experiencing post-crisis recovery increased by 39%, to 2.65 mln units.

Therefore, an average price for a vehicle purchased in the RF increased by almost 8%, to RUR720 384, i.e. the rate of growing prices exceeded the inflation rate, which amounted to 6.1% in 2011. By the year-end, automotive sales became stable in units of output, however, costs on vehicles continued to grow. In December, the market grew by 37.7% in monetary terms, to RUR193.8 bln. In December, the market grew by $6.1 bln in monetary terms, while growth in units of output amounted to 23% only.

An average price for a vehicle purchased in December amounted increased to RUR770 700.

According to the company, in 2010, the automotive market, which just began to recover from the crisis, grew by 40% in monetary terms, to RUR1.27 trn (about $40 bln). According to the Association of European Business (AEB), 1.9 mln vehicles were purchased for this amount.
