As it was reported to Russian Automotive Market Research by OAO KAMAZ press service, on November 23, 2009 in Stuttgart (Germany) OAO KAMAZ and Daimler AG signed agreements on establishment of two joint ventures, FUSO KAMAZ Trucks Rus and Mercedes-Bens Trucks Vostok.

The enterprises are organized on a parity basis, with equal investments and equal joint shares of both parties in each enterprise. Production capacities of the two JVs will be located in Naberezhnye Chelny. The two projects are realized on the basis of strategic partnership between ОАО KAMAZ, Daimler AG, Rostehnologii state corporation and Troika Dialogue investment company, which was initiated in December, 2008. According to the agreement signed, Daimler AG became a 10% holder of OAO KAMAZ shares.

The partners invested 3.5 mln. euros in FUSO KAMAZ Trucks Rus JV organized for production and sales of Fuso Canter light trucks in Russia. The JV will start to operate in the first quarter of 2010. Localization of vehicle components for truck assembly in Russia will constantly grow. The JV head office will be located in Kazan. FUSO KAMAZ Trucks Rus General Director and heads of sales and marketing departments will be appointed out of OAO KAMAZ employees. Posts of the financial director and the production manager have been settled on Fuso representatives.

The partners invested 5 mln. euros in Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok JV organized for production and sales of Mercedes-Benz Actros and Axor heavy trucks. At first, the said trucks will be assembled by the SKD method on the ОАО KAMAZ production facilities. According to an agreement with the anti-monopoly committee of Russia, it will start in the second quarter of 2010. It is planned to launch sales in January, 2010 already. Boris Billih, who earlier was responsible for Mercedes-Benz trucks sales in Russia, will be appointed the General Director of the new enterprise. The head office of the new JV for Mercedes-Benz and Setra trucks and bus sales will be located in Moscow.
