According to Russian Automotive Market Research, over eleven months of 2017 the car production in Russia increased by 22% to 1 244.3 thousand units. At the TOP-5 automobile plants account for two-thirds of passenger cars produced in the country, while there are more than 20 auto-manufactures in the country.
Cars are manufactured in 12 Russian regions, Moscow and Saint Petersburg. At that Saint Petersburg and Samara region contributed the most: 25.5% and 24.6% of the cars manufactured over the period correspondingly.
