The Japanese tire company Toyo Tires considers the possibility to establish its own enterprise in Russia. Presumably, the Russian production site of Toyo Tires will produce tires not only for Russia; it plans to export its products to the European markets. The Japanese tire company intends to make a decision to build a plant in Russia by the middle of 2018.

The plant for delivery of products in Europe and Russia will enable Toyo Tires to strengthen positions in the market of automotive components, as well as become less dependent on exchange rates and other economic risks.

The Russian office of Toyo Tires, which was created with the participation of Mitsubishi Corporation, began its work in 2008. The manufacturer increases supplies of tires to the Russian market every year, and if growth does not slow down, by 2020 the company will double this figure (in comparison with the current 1 million tires per year) up to 2 million tires.

Sollers group considers the possibility to create a line-up of engines, as this is an important competitive advantage in the market. Sollers plans to create new technological units both for its own needs and its partners.

In addition, Zavolzhsky Motor Plant (owned by Sollers) carries out modernization of existing engines. The matter concerns the modernization of four-cylinder petrol engine ZMZ-409 and eight-cylinder ZMZ-52342.10, produced at the plant.

The Russian subsidiary of French manufacturer of automotive components A. Raymond Group opened a plant producing fasteners A.Raymond RUS LLC in the Nizhny Novgorod region in July. The company is located on the territory of Dzerzhinsk-Vostochny industrial park; the production capacity will be 10 million fasteners per year. It is planned that components from the Nizhny Novgorod region will be supplied not only to Russian, but also foreign enterprises.

According to the forecast of GfK marketing company, the Russian tire market is expected to decrease by 20% in 2015, mainly because of its high dependence on sales of new cars. This forecast is based on analysis of sales of retailers in cities with population over 500 thousand people in several Russian regions.

According to GfK forecasts, the market of summer tires will stagnate to a lesser degree than that of winter ones, as sales of winter tires directly depend on the volume of sales of new cars.

Bosch launched the production of automobile systems at the new plant in the Samara region. By the end of 2016 about 50 million euros will be invested in the construction of a plant area of more than 22 thousand square meters, production and equipment. Production workshops, warehouses, laboratories and administrative premises will be located on the territory of a plant. By the end of 2015, at the first stage it is planned to create up to 100 jobs.

At the initial stage the plant will produce anti-lock braking systems ABS and electronic stability programs ESP for cars assembled in Russia.

The new Ford Focus will be the first car in the Ford model line-up in Russia, which will receive the new 1.5-liter EcoBoost petrol engine.

New turbocharged 1.5-liter engine develops capacity of 150 HP at 6000 rpm and ensures a torque of 240 Nm in the range from 1600 to 4000 rpm. Fuel consumption at the combined cycle is 6.7 l/100 km and the rate of CO2 emissions – 154 g/km. 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine provides acceleration from 0 to 100 km in 9.2 seconds and enables to develop the maximum speed of 210 km/h. This engine is certified to operate on AI-92.

PSMA Rus plant in Kaluga produces two Mitsubishi models in the mode of CKD: Mitsubishi Outlander and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. To assemble these models bumpers, seats, glass, body roof plating, sound insulating materials, cooling system, steering wheel, dashboard, hood lock, hood air grid, airbags, frame for Pajero Sport are purchased from suppliers located on the territory of Russia. The majority of suppliers is joint ventures of foreign companies, such as German Continental, French Faurecia, Italian HT&L fitting, Croatian AD Plastic, Spanish CIE Automotive, Canadian Magna and other, located on the territory of Russia. The main suppliers are located in the Kaluga region, which can significantly minimize logistics costs.
