In November 2014 KAMAZ sold 2.5 thousand trucks in the Russian market. According to the company, this is the highest figure since July 2014, when there was a drop in sales from three to two thousand trucks per month on the average. The share of KAMAZ in the Russian truck market made 44% last month.

In November 2014 KAMAZ reduced its work schedule for three days because of the low demand for trucks. This measure enabled the company to save more than 57 million rubles.

The Russian truck manufacturer KAMAZ may change its name in the near future. Currently the company considers different ways of rebranding, but it is still unknown it will change the name completely or leave the part of it.

New models can lead to the rebranding, in which the company can invest about 200-500 thousand Euros. The matter concerns the new three-axle dump truck 65205, which will enter the market in 2015, as well as the long-haul truck tractor 5490, presented this year. These models have improved consumer and technical properties and are made in the new design.

According to Federal State Statistics Service of Russia, in January–November 2014, 139000 trucks were produced in Russia, which is a 25.8% decrease on the previous year. In November 2014 the production of trucks fell by 38.6% in comparison with November 2013 and by 12.6% in relation to October 2014.

The production of buses over the first eleven months of 2014 decreased by 20.6% and made 38300 units. In November 2014 the production of buses fell by 19.1% in comparison with the similar month of 2013 and by 4.6% - with October 2014.

KAMAZ group carries on negotiations on placing the assembly plant for the production of trucks in Latin America, the new company will be most likely located in Argentina. The company received offers on the assembly in several countries, but KAMAZ attention is focused on Argentina.

KAMAZ, which supplies chassis to enterprises in Colombia and Venezuela, may begin shipment to Peru, if it wins the tender for delivery of vehicles for the Ministry of Defense of this country.

KAMAZ export accounts for almost 12% of the total vehicle sales. Assembly plants of KAMAZ are located in Kazakhstan, Vietnam, India and Pakistan.

The group of companies «Avtotor» and the Turkish automaker Ford Otosan signed a memorandum of understanding, which provides for the production of trucks Ford Trucks in the Kaliningrad region.

The plan provides for SKD assembly of commercial vehicles Ford, which include the truck tractor 1846T, a series of road trucks with wheel formula 4×2 and 6×2 and a series of construction trucks with wheel formula 6×4 and 8×4.

In December 2014 commercial vehicles Ford will be produced in a test mode in the Kaliningrad region and in February 2015 it is planned to launch the industrial production.

According to Federal Customs Service of Russia, import of trucks in January-October 2014 decreased by 12.5% to 54.7 thousand vehicles on 1 billion 773.3 million dollars. Of them 52.6 thousand trucks on 1 billion 511 million dollars were imported from foreign countries, the remaining 2.1 thousand vehicles on 262.4 million dollars - from CIS countries.

Export of trucks decreased by 12.6% to 18.1 thousand vehicles on 389.9 million dollars. 3.8 thousand trucks on 139.4 million dollars were supplied to foreign countries, 14.3 thousand vehicles on 259.5 million dollars – to CIS countries.

At the end of December KAMAZ plans to stop the production of vehicles. The company announced December 29, 30 and 31 days of downtime. After the Christmas holidays employees of the company will go on a corporate leave - from January 12 to January 25. The reduction in working days is caused by a significant decrease in sales in the market of heavy commercial vehicles. During the holidays employees of the plant will carry out repair and modernization of equipment.

According to Federal State Statistics Service of Russia, in October 2014 production of trucks decreased by 41.1% in comparison with October 2013 and made 13700 units. In January-October 2014 127000 trucks were produced, that is by 24.2% less than in the previous year.

Production of buses in October 2014 increased by 14.8% in comparison with October 2013 and made 4400 units, but over January-October 2014 it decreased by 20.7% to 34100 units.

Beginning July 2015 the Russian government may impose restrictions on the deadline for operation of trucks and buses. These restrictions will speed up the renewal of the Russian transport park, in which old vehicles account for a significant share. Administrative fine for violation of operation deadlines may vary from 30 thousand to 200 thousand rubles.

The deadline for the operation of trucks with GVW up to 3.5 tons will be limited to 18 years and then will gradually decrease to 12 years. Age of trucks with GVW over 3.5 tons may be limited to 20 years and later will be reduced to 15 years. Trucks with GVW exceeding 12 tons can be operated for not more than 28 years and then this period will decrease to 25 years.

The bill also establishes deadlines for the operation of buses. So, the following terms of operation are set in respect of buses for transportation of passengers with more than eight seats and maximum weight up to 5 tons: 18 years - for the period from July 1, 2015, 15 years - from January 1, 2017 and 12 years - from July 1, 2018. Restrictions in 25 years from July 1, 2016, 20 years from January 1, 2017 and 15 years from July 1, 2018 may be imposed on buses with maximum weight exceeding 5 tons.

The government of the Russian Federation signed a decree on approval of distribution of subsidies, allocated in 2014 from the federal budget to regions for the purchase of buses and communal vehicles running on gas fuel. The Ministry of Industry and Trade plans to conclude corresponding agreements with constituent entities of the Russian Federation and transfer funds in the amount of 3 billion 770 million 700 thousand rubles in the shortest possible time.

The number of orders to purchase CNG vehicles, received by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, significantly exceeded the funding provided by the decree and amounted to about 6.5 billion rubles. The number of orders was cut and distributed among regions proportionally in accordance with methodology specified in rules for this case.
