In January-May 2018 new car sales grew 18.7% on the same period of 2017 to 614.3 thousand vehicles. In May 141.3 thousand new cars were sold (+21.6%).
The share of Russian brands increased by 0.5% to 22.1%, at that Russian and foreign brands sales went up by 21.5% and 17.9% correspondingly.
LADA is the market leader with 129.8 thousand new vehicles sold and a 23.3% growth in sales. LADA accounted for 21.1% of the market.
KIA and HYUNDAI with 13.6% and 11.0% of the new car market respectively are the leading brands among foreign brands. RENAULT and VOLKSWAGEN also entered the TOP-5 brands and accounted for 8.6% and 6% of the market correspondingly.
