21.05.2018 / Truck market growth is slowing down

In Jan-Apr 2018 new truck sales amounted to 24.8 thousand vehicles, which was a 29.8% growth on the same period of 2017.

The market growth is slowing down, however: in February new truck sales showed a 39.5% growth on February 2017, March growth rate was 27.3%, whereas in April new truck sales were 19% up on April 2017.

KAMAZ sales increased by 10.4% to 8.5 thousand vehicles, GAZ sold 2.9 thousand vehicles, which was a 16% rise. Despite the increase in sales of the market leaders, the share of Russian brands declined from 58% to 50%.

Volvo is the market leader among foreign brands. In Jan-Apr 2018 Volvo sales grew by 66.7% to 2 thousand vehicles.
