The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation prepared draft amendments to the government's resolution on the recycling tax for wheeled vehicles (chassis) and trailers. Changes, if approved, can take effect in 2018. The document provides for the maximum increase of the tax for new tractor units.

According to Russian Automotive Market Research, over the first nine months of 2017 sales of new trailers and semi-trailers grew by 66.58% on the same period of 2016 and reached 17 508 units. In September 2017 the market of new trailers increased by 90.80%, sales made 2 633 units (in September 2016 – 1380 units).

Over the first nine months of 2017 KAMAZ received 2.979 billion rubles of net profit according to RAS against 279.4 million rubles in the previous year. Revenue amounted to 94.5 billion rubles, having grown by a third on the same period of the last year. Cost of sales increased by 25.5% to 97.363 billion rubles. Revenues from received subsidies grew by 33.2% and made 15.37 billion rubles.
According to Russian Automotive Market Research, over eight months of 2017 16.6 thousand special purpose vehicles were produced in Russia, which is a 3.8% decrease on the similar period of 2016. The largest shares in the special purpose vehicles production structure belong to two categories – lifting vehicles and municipal vehicles.
According to the Federal Customs Service of Russia, in January-August 2017 import of trucks to Russia increased by 45.7% and made 16.9 thousand trucks on 1 212.2 million dollars. Of them 14.1 thousand trucks on 637.7 million dollars were imported from foreign countries, 2.9 thousand trucks on 574.5 million dollars - from CIS countries.
